WHY DEDICATE MY CHILD?
What is Child Dedication?
It is a time when parents and often extended family, publicly commit themselves to raise their child according to God’s Word, and in the nurture and love of the Lord Jesus Christ ... committing the child to God and His purposes for the child’s life. There is no age restriction for the child, though normally you will often see infant through younger children.
Why do we dedicate children at New Harvest?
We gather together as family and friends to celebrate the gift of a child that God has given. Child dedication is a time of welcoming a child into the family of the church community.
The church family shares in the nurturing, and praying for the child and for the parents .. as they have an awesome responsibility to guide, teach, pray for and lead their children.
On Mother’s Day, May 12 ... Child Dedication will be held
During the Worship Service (10 a.m.), Pastor Terry will ask those who have connected with him prior about dedicating their child, as well as any extended family that would like, to come forward for the dedication and prayer time.
If you would like to dedicate your child during this service, please either connect with Pastor Terry at church or you may fill out the form below and he will connect with you.
What Does Mother’s Day Mean to Me?
For some, Mother’s Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate …
for others, Mother’s Day is really, really hard …
and each year it often depends on where you are at in your season of life how you view the day.
Though you may be tempted again this year to skip the day by avoiding worshiping with others, we encourage you to come to hear from others as they share about their struggles and how God has met them.
